DGR Soccer

About Us

DGR Soccer is a recreational soccer program for children between 4-14 years of age.

Started in 1984 at Monroe Park in Dunmore, DGR Soccer has developed into one of the premiere recreational soccer programs in Northeastern Pennsylvania.  DGR Soccer is a SAY (Soccer Association for Youth) Soccer recreational program designed to provide any child the opportunity to play recreational soccer.  We provide a fall soccer league that also does year round training at either our home field located at Sherwood Park or at Riverfront Sports Complex for indoor training.  Children between the ages of 4-17 are eligible to play.

We have DGR subdivided into 2 groups, Sixers and DGR.
Sixers:
The Sixers program is the beginner stage of DGR Soccer.  It is divided by age into 5U and 6U. Both age groups focus on dribbling, ball control, passing and shooting. Players will be separated into teams and have matches all on the same day.

DGR:
DGR is for our 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U.  Both of these divisions are Co-ed and play weekly matches.
  • 8U has at least one practice and plays one match each week.  All of the matches will take place at either Sherwood Park or Schautz Stadium.  Each match consists of 4 quarters of 10 minutes.  There is a 1 minute break between quarters 1 & 2 and 3 & 4.  There is a 5 minute halftime between quarters 2 & 3.  All regular season matches will end at full time (end of the 4th quarter).  During playoffs, we will follow FIFA rules for overtime, which will consist of 2 - 5 minute halves.  If still tied, we will then go to a 5 v. 5 shoot out followed by 1 v. 1 until there is a winner.
  • 10U has at least two practices and plays one match each week.  All of the matches will take place at Sherwood Park or Schautz Stadium.  Each match consists of 4 quarters of 12 minutes.  There is a 1 minute break between quarters 1 & 2 and 3 & 4.  There is a 6 minute halftime between quarters 2 & 3.  All regular season matches will end at full time (end of the 4th quarter).  During playoffs, we will follow FIFA rules for overtime, which will consist of 2 - 6 minute halves.  If still tied, we will then go to a 5 v. 5 shoot out followed by 1 v. 1 until there is a winner.
